Atta Tarar Accuses PTI of Facilitating Terrorists, Calls It TTP’s ‘B-Team’

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of facilitating terrorists and alleged that the party has become the “B-team” of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). These are allegations made by the federal minister and have been reported as part of the government’s position.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar said terrorists had targeted political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but alleged that PTI had not taken a strong enough position against militant groups. He also accused the PTI-led provincial government of avoiding action against terrorists.

Tarar questioned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s handling of the security situation and said the provincial administration would have to decide whether it stood with Pakistan or Afghanistan. He also raised concerns over the presence of non-custom-paid vehicles in the province, alleging that such vehicles could be used in terrorist activities.

The information minister further criticised the provincial government over the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying security forces and police needed adequate resources to combat terrorism.

State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry also criticised the KP government’s security policies. He questioned the use of funds allocated for security and raised concerns over the powers and resources available to the provincial police.

The statements come amid continuing political tensions between the federal government and the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government over security, counterterrorism and the role of provincial authorities.
