Asian Games: Pakistan-Hong Kong Quarter-Final Washed Out, Pakistan Advance to Semi-Finals

The first quarter-final cricket match between Pakistan and Hong Kong at the 2026 Asian Games was cancelled due to rain, allowing Pakistan to advance to the semi-finals.

The match was scheduled to take place at Kuroji Sports Park in Nishan, Japan. However, continuous rain prevented even the toss from taking place.

As the rain continued, the organisers decided to cancel the match. Since Pakistan had a better ranking than Hong Kong, Pakistan were awarded a place in the semi-finals under the tournament rules.

Pakistan have therefore reached the semi-finals of the 2026 Asian Games without playing the quarter-final match. The national team will now continue its campaign in the next stage of the tournament.
