OGRA Announces Reduction in Petrol and High-Speed Diesel Prices in Pakistan

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products under the daily pricing mechanism, making both petrol and high-speed diesel cheaper for consumers.

According to the official announcement, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 2.20 per litre. Following the reduction, the new petrol price has been fixed at Rs. 327.62 per litre.

The price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has also been reduced by Rs. 1.50 per litre. The new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs. 380.86 per litre.

Meanwhile, the government has increased the petroleum levy on high-speed diesel by 81 paisa per litre. The levy has been raised from Rs. 73.47 to Rs. 74.28 per litre.

The petroleum levy on petrol, however, has remained unchanged at Rs. 80 per litre, according to the announcement.

The latest reduction is expected to provide some relief to motorists and transport operators, although diesel prices remain significantly higher than petrol prices.
