Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye Expected to Discuss Trilateral Defense Cooperation in Jeddah

Jeddah: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye are expected to hold high-level discussions on regional security and defense cooperation as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman meet in Jeddah.

According to international media reports, the leaders are expected to discuss a possible trilateral defense agreement aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the three countries. Reports suggest that negotiations on the proposed framework have been underway for some time, with recent regional developments accelerating the process.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office has confirmed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Saudi Arabia from August 6 to 8. The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Asim Munir, senior military officials and other federal ministers.

The Foreign Office stated that the visit is focused on enhancing bilateral relations, strategic cooperation and consultations on regional and international issues. However, no official confirmation has yet been issued by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Türkiye regarding the signing of a trilateral defense agreement.
