No Fresh Invitation Extended to PTI for Talks, Says NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq

Islamabad: National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has clarified that no new invitation has been extended to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for political negotiations, stating that he has stopped urging the opposition to engage in dialogue after repeated unsuccessful attempts.

Speaking to the media at Parliament House, Ayaz Sadiq said his recent meeting with PTI leader Amir Dogar focused solely on matters related to the National Assembly. He added that if any discussion on political negotiations took place between Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Amir Dogar, he was not aware of it.

The Speaker said that both he and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had repeatedly encouraged the opposition to return to the negotiating table. According to him, dialogue remains the most effective way to resolve political differences and strengthen the democratic process.

Ayaz Sadiq further stated that he is willing to facilitate talks at any suitable venue, including a committee room if necessary. However, he maintained that the opposition has not shown a willingness to move forward with negotiations despite multiple offers from the government.
